WERNER PEGASUS Technologies

Pegasus WPX code is a unique concept in highly effective security and with excellent price-performance ratio designed for applications requiring very stringent validation controls in government and private sectors. Our systems and solutions are designed for plug and play installation and operate under almost any platform interfacing with most operating systems.
Werner Pegasus WPX secure document issuance and validation processes.
The WPX has built-in redundancy in its three main modules:
1- Controlled issuance.
The system fully identifies the operator as well as the issuance station through the use of a personal smart card and a fingerprint reader. After login, the operator’s card has to remain inserted for the system to stay operational. At the same time, a complex system with built in redundancy and highly encrypted databases, is created to guarantee the integrity of the information. Every operator is 100% accountable for his / her work.
2- Securing the issued document.
The WPX adds several high-security features to the printed document, including advanced image processing and particularly the secure WPX codes. The WPX Secure Optical Code works as an information rich fingerprint that stores a unique serial number as well as other relevant information of the document. These codes cannot be reproduced, altered or reverse engineered in any way. These security features are an ideal complement to secure materials since they are generated at the moment of issuance.
3- Systematic machine verification of issued documents.
A specifically designed portable scanner that reads the WPX Secure Optical Code (which also requires the use of an assigned smart card) registers every scan made by the operator in every phase of the supply chain in a multimodal environment. Validation units are rugged, have serial non-volatile memory and make the operator fully accountable as well. These readers are also designed to validate RFID (proximity chips operating at 13.56 MHz) and smartcards for drivers licenses and vehicle registration cards using any of these technologies.
Systematic or random scanning of the WPX codes is a strong deterrent to possible sabotage attempts by sustaining the system’s integrity even while operating in a hostile environment where a second layer redundant system is a must. Issuance control and verification complete the solution, as they provide the elements of accountability and record tracking needed in any security system. The scanners have additional functionalities that make them the most advanced systems available. They include a GSM/GPRS module for on-line communication with database systems and Bluetooth communication for peripheral devices such as bar code scanners and remote printers. The scanners also include a fingerprint reader that could be used to validate the operator and fingerprint information contained in a drivers license or ID. |
